Great for quilters
I use this every time to wash a newly finished quilt to prevent bleeding. So far so good.

Great for wool dyeing.
Great for soaking wool before dyeing. Just a teaspoon or so in your soaking tub does the trick.

Keeps dye suspended
I love using this product when washing delicate silks. It’s hard to find.

Saved my fav jacket!
This completely removed the pink dye from lime jacket! I was devastated when my new pink hoodie bled all over my favorite lime colored athletic jacket. After following the directions, I was so happy that this product saved the day! Not only did it remove the pink dye from the jacket, but it somehow revived the bright lime color from when I first bought it years ago.

Followed directions and washed a quilt. Turned out great! Colors did not run in the quilt.

Industrial laundry detergent
I use this to strip shirts and tapestries (blanks) of all of the chemicals applied at the factory before tie dying.

Not just a dye setter for home dying, but awesome for prewash of new clothes that color run & to keep your black clothes black!
Though I initially bought this for dying fabric, I find I used it often on brand new designer clothes to set the dye from THEIR processes so I can avoid having to be so "specific" with my basic laundering. Most of my clothing tags say "launder separately, inside out, cold/cold delicate wash" I have found that more often than not, it is due to dye color bleed NOT the fabric itself...I don't know about anyone else but I don't have time to launder every single item of my wardrobe separately lol...its not like I only wear a couple of different colors. I actually wear a lot of different bright "jewel tone" colors along with the basic darks so simply separating like colors is not recommended for many of these items either. So, when I buy something new, I wash it in this FIRST, according to instructions until I have no more bleeding. I have yet to have color transfer issues on my clothes after using this and mixing my laundry so I would say this works like a charm to set dye! AWESOME to keep your blacks actually black as well. :) Of course, once I treat my new clothes with this, I do wash on delicate, inside out, on cold/cold but not because of color run but just to keep them their brightest and darkest for longer. (I use detergent specific to darks etc. as well...I find doing these things and starting with this, my clothes look new even a year or more later, with no fading.)Using it this way, it makes it well worth the price! (because lets face it, it is pricey for such a small bottle...but not when you calculate the savings of your hard earned money forked over for a new wardrobe sooner just because of fading issues like your favorite black pants are now gray! This way you can at least hang onto things until the styles have changed enough that you WANT new clothes lol.) When dying your own fabrics, well...lets face that too, few hobbies are cheap lol so it is what it is price wise.

IT WORKS!
I had a disaster. Navy blue fabric in a hand quilted quilt I made bled into the off-white fabric making it turn purplish gray. What a heartache! I looked online and people said this would work. I had my doubts because I had put it in the dryer before I realized the fabric ran. IT WORKED. I put the quilt in the washer with hot water and added the correct amount of the Jacquard Synthrapol. I soaked the quilt in the solution for 8+ hrs and the dye came out and the quilt was saved. I'm so happy with the results. I will always have this on hand just in case.
